Cannon Beach, Oregon

Cannon Beach, Oregon

There are tiny coastal towns here with the basic of necessities. Townsfolk seem tired of tourists, unfortunately. Traffic on holidays is overwhelming so we try to avoid that entirely. Repeated road rage can dampen the spirits of even the most prepared and enthusiastic traveller. However, the city of Portland had its share of unpleasantries as well. Perhaps its a north western driver thing? Be for-warned. There is also a fair amount of crime in the city as well. On the upside, the coast is the most beautiful in the USA, in my opinion, and aught be something to see in a life time. Beautiful. The ambience at times is something like heaven I think.

Coastal housing theme.

This is a temperate rainforest. There where huge trees, tons of mushrooms, some flowers. A creek. And this trail went down to a cove. There are a good amount of trails and coves to explore in the area. Tons of wild blackberries.

We got to see some real surfing this morning at this cove. Sorry, it was too hard for my camera to zoom and focus for a video!

Low tide at sunset on Cannon Beach. Going out to see what’s in the tide pools.

And what is a visit to the coast without a little cloud and drizzle, chowder and fish & chips!!!

Ecola Seafood Market-fresh catches of the day.

Did you know? Over 98% of hazelnuts come from Oregon. my favorite nut! Yum!
