Pics driving into LA.

Surprisingly, we’ve never seen roads in such poor shape, or as much trash on the sides of the roads, as any other place in the USA. Shocking at times. Sometimes there are literally full kitchen bags of garbage. Topping roads in New Mexico and trash in Portland. We’re wondering where all the high tax money goes too?
Asian communities in LA include a Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Korea Town and even a Filipino town! So far we’ve spent the most time in Little Tokyo. The largest Japanese community in North America.

(Little Tokyo is right next to skid row, a place where the homeless set up shelter on the side walks, make sure not to venture into that area.)
We had a lot of fun at the Revolving Sushi bar.

We enjoyed browsing the little shops and found a few treasures.
Bubble tea and drawings.

We got to see the new Japanese animation movie that day too, MyHeroAcadamia.
Back to Little Tokyo to try Takoyaki. Sort of like a dumpling, gooey inside. Texture is a big deal in this type of cuisine.

One afternoon, Noah got to see the newest Godzilla movie from Japan, including a panel with speaker, who’d flown in from Japan, to tell about his life long involvement in the creation of Godzilla movies.

Of course we enjoyed views of the ocean too. Currently red tide.

Manhattan Beach

We have a Korean sister-in-law who once shared their families favorite Korean Bbq restaurant, some better than others. We were oh so pleased with the food at Jeon Ju. Yum!

These sides are complimentary. We ordered bulgogi short ribs and a bibimbap each.

Korean style shaved ice, at Oakobing! (Different than a snow cone in that it has cream.) Flavour. Green tea, sweet beans and mochis, which are like a chewy gummy. Very fun and surprisingly good! Lol. This one could feed 4!

Cheers!
Canals in Venice, which is a waterway for residents to enjoy in their “backyard” area.
