LA through San Diego to Yuma, Arizona.

Really nice coastal drive. Stopped in a neat surf town that reminded us of Monterey/Carmel or even Canon Beach OR. Had a great coffee at Steady State coffee roasters. It’d been a long time since we had a really great latte with house syrups too.

San Diego has a really nice bay area and you can tour the Midway aircraft carrier other water vessels like a full size “pirate shop.” SD is known for its many museums. The city also has a pirate diner theatre!

It was a relief to get to Arizona and see normal living costs for fuel, groceries, eating out, etc. Thats always really oppressing to be under such high inflation..

The land is dessert with un forested mountains. There are winter crops in like lettuce and kale. Still surprising to see this time of year.

Reminded me of the rock monsters from the movie, The Never Ending story.

Imperial Sand Dunes State Park. You can rent buggies to drive out to them.

Yuma is a city that attracts many retired northerners for the winter months. There are “many” rv parks and is a great place to find rv repair and services while here.

Old Downtown Yuma

We’ve enjoyed the Nichim Coffee shop using organic beans. If you go on the right day they sell local sourdough bread thats delicious and the best sourdough english muffins I’ve ever had!

There are a few fun local farm tours with storefronts that are fun to try check out and try local treats.. We found Martha’s Date Farm, The Peanut Patch and The Lemon Groove. Yummy treats. Theres also a local olive store in Old Down town we didnt get to.

Sample different varieties on dates at Marthas. Lots of dates to buy and local pantry items as well. Boys had bacon date shake they enjoyed.

Peanut patch had lots of peanut items to pick from as well as fudge, scoop ice cream, candies and pantry food.

The lemon patch had local veggies and fruit. They had a few yummy lemon themed baked goods, local fridge food, drinks and pineapple soft ice cream. The lemon cake was really nice.
