Redwood Forest, California

This forest expands from northern California to about mid and not far out from coast lines. This is fog in the photo. It is from the ocean and roadside signs along the coast will tell you to turn your headlights on in the daytime.

So many big trees, it was hard to get pictures and there were few pullovers with room for us to stop.

There were some coastal trails that would be worth going to a hike on.

Visited Trees of Mystery park attraction. It had a skywalk, gondola and one of the tallest trees in the world.

Brotherhood tree at 297 ft.

The coastal route drives through the mountains and small old towns. We were a little concerned about crime but found Willits which had some good food, a neat old movie theatre and impressive police and fire services. We’d highly recommend the hot sandwiches at the Loose Caboose. Soo good!

Love the picture, I enjoy seeing nature especially with people I care about in them. I wondered if fire/burnt area was anywhere near?

Hello! Yes, this year there have been soo many forest fires in west. There weren’t any right along the coast, as it is fairly wet and humid, but just on the other side of the mountains and onward east. It has been very dry. The day we left McCall ID there were fires on both sides of mountain peaks. We had to cancel whitewater rafting as the air quality was very poor, over 225 ppm. Normal is around 50. It was severe enough in Treasure Valley that we kept driving towards the west coast. There were still a lot of fires that we drove by on the way but luckily none as close.
